Undersill - 65 convertible

Post by southerly95 »

Is it normal to have holes in the undersill? That's the lowest formed metal strip under the kick step and forms the outer edge of the floor. They fill up with water in heavy rain and of course are unpainted so no wonder they rot!

The holes are there to let out any water that finds its way into the sills.

If it doesn't work, you're not hitting it with a big enough hammer.

slap as much waxoil on as you can, make sure the drain holes are free to drain the water that gets in and they should last for years
