Front quarter light window catch

Post by pmdavies »

Hi

Is it possible to replace the catch that fits to the opening part of the window. Both mine have snapped. If so how??

Thanks

Very carefully. With the glass out you will have access to the riveted chrome pin. With a little drilling the pin can be pushed out. The bracket to the frame has been known to fall off, so fully support it.

Pull. The frame has some flex to it. Try flexing the ends outward to break the years of crud. Try various penetrating liquids to help break the seal and crud. And pull.

its woth noting that the seal is a flat piece of rubber that is folded over the glass as the glass and rubber slide into the frame.

Or you can try this

from

I have them on one of my saloons and they work fine. Not as secure as the originals but the original aren’t known for there security.

Hi, new to moggies so please be gentle at least till I've crash tested it, Can anyone advise where I can get the bit of metal that makes up the quarter light - been to most available websites & 'wares' shows the whole ventilator assembly but don't offer it on their parts list.
with grateful thanks in anticipation - rich

Hi Rich
Not sure what bit you mean - I have a couple of spare quarter lights lying around. Post a pic of the part and I'll let you know if I have it... Rich

Its the little bit of metal that the triangular shaped piece of glass fits in, would love the drivers side if these are handed, as the only thing holding it together is the glass ( that and some hastily applied discrete gaffer tape whilst i find the bits) I will post picie when back from France in couple of weeks. many thanks
