Traveller Rear Door Hinges

Post by qman516 »

I'm restoring a 69 Moggie Traveller and foolishly removed the rear door hinges without labelling them. I've noticed that they have letters embossed into the back of them, M, P, G, K. Do these letters relate to their position. If not can anyone help with how I can work out which one goes where. Thanks

There was a previous thread with photos of the correct positions of the hinges.

I think mine is "correct" but Leo is suggesting a better door fit if you fit the hinges upside down.... I have no idea which is better as I've never tried them the other way up ?

But the weight of the door is intended to be carried on the 'balls' in the hinge. The upside down way - the weight will be hanging on the bolts - and they will work their way into the hinge metal!
