Hi from a relative newbie. Please forgive the lack of knowledge evident in this question, but can someone provide me a picture/diagram of where the trunnions are, so I know how to keep them greased?
And I have the attached pic of the area where the offside rear springs on a traveller (which I've been to view) connect to what I think is the rear apron. Can't work out if it's just surface rust or something more serious. It's on that sort of angled corner bit at the top of the picture.[frame][/frame]

More pictures needed! But it looks horribly rusted and neglected - the rubber bushing is sticking out on that spring hanger. Trunnions are the front suspension swivels - do a google search for a free pdf of the workshop manual......

Re: Trunnions and Rear Springs/Aprons
Thanks. Here's the nearside rear springs.
The rear apron is being replaced I'm told. I just don't know if the angled piece in the foreground at the top of the both pictures is part of that apron or if it's something else. Know what that section is called?
Then I'll know what to ask the present keeper.
Appreciate the advice.[frame][/frame]

I think it's a bent out of shape inner wing....the spring hanger looks to be lopsided - but that may just be the knackered bush.

There are a lot of people on here more knowlegeable than me, but could it be a rather bent shipping bracket?

It's called RUST - notice the split..... Is this a car you have bought - or are just considering buying?? If so - let's see a LOT more pictures of the underside - esp the sills and crossmember.......

Think I've worked it out! Almost certain it's part of the inner rear wing.
Yes it was rusty but being worked on. It's a car I'm keeping tabs on.
Since those pics were taken, that area's been given a good seeing-to.
Crossmember and chassis legs are sound. Not seen sills yet.
Thanks for your help.
