Bonnet modification

Post by Rust bucket »

When near completion of my car and fitting the bonnet I thought I couldn't put up with the bonnet that low causing for me back ache in no time, so here is my mod too raise it from around 32" at the catch to 36". Don't forget use a split pin after the wing nut on the other side to stop it all falling to bits on a long trip.[frame]Image[/frame]

Haha nice I kind of wonder weather to look Into fitting a gas strut. my friends merc 190e has a strut on his bonnet with a clip that when pressed let's the bonnet go to 90 degrees almost xD but I like the simplicity of the holder it currently has xD

More details on the gas struts would be very welcome.

Whatever the cost, it's got to be less than a Chiropractor!

Hi id be really interested in that newsletter or any more details with regards to the gas strut set up! Looks great, my friend just showed me his new Audi and I really liked the motion and smoothness of it, plus more head space and I always wondered if my catch contributed to any of my rattles!

Thanks
