Scuttle panels (interior trim)

Hi all.
I recently bought new front scuttle panels (the interior trim panels by your feet in the footwells), they have a flap of material loose along the edge that meets the door, is this to wrap around the edge of the door frame & the door draught excluder put back in place over the top to hold the trim in place? Or am I missing something?
Thanks.
Neil.

Hi from Aus

That is correct, exactly as you stated (and NO you are not missing something).

Hi all,I have this morning fitted some interior scuttle panels in the front footwells, however the flap of material is overlapping quite considerably, have I done this correctly? It doesn’t look like it if I am honest with myself!

Thank you,

Paul.

Fold/glue the flap out of sight to the rear of the panel.

Hi

Fit the kick panel without the door edging / draught excluder fitted and the flap just loose,

Once the panel is located and fitted correctly flap the flap around the door post edge and Mark it top and bottom a little short so you won't see the flap once the door edging is fitted, Mark a straight line on the flap from top to bottom and cut off the excess,

I normally use a small amount of suitable impact adhesive to hold the flap in place then fit the horrible spring steel retaining clips as required,

Then when you put the edging / draught excluder around the door frame you won't see the material flap.

Hope that helps,

Steve
