Correct sills !!

Guy who sold me this car five years ago said these were the sills that were fitted in the factory ???[frame]Image[/frame]

The bits that you can see there are just bolt on covers over the sills.

That being the case there not sealed at the sides what should I seal them with

They don't want sealing. A slight gap allows air to circulate to keep the sills dry inside. It'd be worth taking them off though to examine the sills underneath & apply some anti-rusting treatment.

Definitely take them off -if all is well - thoroughly soak with Waxoyl.

I agree with all the above, but with ref to the original statement, they do look like the original kick plates and sill finishers. Just the right finish of silver with slight wear on top looks exactly as it should do...
