Wiper details for a split screen

Hi. I have a 1955 series 2 almost back on the road. The car didnt have any wiper equipment originally but I have accumulated enough parts to get the mechanism in and working but I need to know if I have the correct wiper arm length and wiper blade length. The arms are the nut and collet type fitted to the plain drive shaft. Mine are about 9 inches from drive shaft to blade attachment slot. The blades are 10 inches long and have a TRICO ref G500-10S. Problem is that the total assembly is too long and wipes over the central rib but which part is wrong? Any advice? Thanks

My wiper blades are 8 inches long on my split screen.

Hi, they are 9 inches.
