Andrew Eggleton (MorrisMinorSpareParts) sells dark grey piping which is probably the nearest match for clarendon grey: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MORRIS-MINOR- ... OSwkNZUid1 Here's his website: https://www.morrisminorspareparts.com/

ESM sell a lighter grey piping: http://www.morrisminorspares.com/body-i ... ey-p828874

Minor wing piping is not an exact match to the body paint colours, although I've seen cars where it has been painted - presumably sprayed at the same time as the car was. That may be why your previous wing piping was clarendon grey as it isn't actually available in that specific colour.

Nope not sprayed. It was produced about 20 years ago in a limited quantity but the manufacturer has to make at least 5000L of it to make it commercially viable. Spraying at the same time as the car tends to make piping crack and craze although I have heard it suggested that if the car paint colour is mixed with clear vinyl paint (designed not to crack) i.e. for seats etc this would be one way of overcoming the problem. Has anyone any experience of this ?

I've got some smoke grey piping. You can have it if you think it would be close enough. Might take a bit of finding but I know it's somewhere..

That is annoying..................rather thoughtless of them. I hope you can get this sorted so your resprayed car looks tip-top.

You could try making it yourself and it is quite easy to do. I made the piping on my TD from leatherette and polyester cord and it turned out quite well and has held up. The cord is available in various diameters. Leatherette is available in all sorts of colours and textures quite cheap on fleabay. Just cover it and run it through Mrs Oldjalopy's sewing machine and add some darts if required to make it easier to curve. :D
