It is the same piping - but a shorter length is required for the front. Front wing piping was only fitted on Series MM and early Series 11 cars. Not Minor 1000s. The factory started simply using a caulking sealant for the front wing seam instead. No reason why you can't use a length of wing piping if you prefer though.

Did it today: I wasn't satisfied using only a seal (anti corrosion strip in this case). I didn't like that gap. I already had two pipings for the rear wings, so I cut one into two pieces and also cut out spaces for the thread bulges. Then I glued it with the seal strip and it looks fine for me.
