a.k.a. Bent?

The rubber buffers push upwards on the bonnet edges over the (50+) years against the pull of the bonnet pin. You can re-curve the front lip of the bonnet if you are careful, using the top of the front panel as your guide. On the Lowlight you have to be careful since the turn-over of the front lip is very weak and narrow so you can easily push/pull too hard an, with a sudden POP, find you've bent the bonnet massively. BTDT.
I had to shave a bit of rubber off of both buffers, maybe 2mm, to get it to sit like this. Passenger side corner still looks maybe 2mm too high and needs another tiny tweak.

Picture test...

Thanks, but it is one of those areas where I wished I'd spent another 10 minutes before it went for painting. I also wish I has tugged the front bumper rods a touch further forwards since I ran out of adjustment and one side sits a touch too far back. Oh well, maybe when I rebuild it next time, eh? The crease in the bonnet starts about 8 inches from the front middle of the bonnet and goes about 2 feet back along the edge against the front wings. this is where you can bend the bonnet back down at the edges and then a little fine adjustment to curve the flattened front lip so it becomes a continuous curve once again.
