Traveller waist rail additional window lip seal.

Post by pgp001 »

I seem to remember seeing a modification that someone had done by adding some rubber lip seals along the top outer edges of the waist rail in an attempt to divert the water from the glass from going down into the channels.

I know this is totally non standard, but I wanted to have another look at this solution to preventing water getting in, the problem is I dont remember where I saw it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

Thanks
Phil

I have fitted lip type seals in place of the original felt type and I feel give much improved sealing.
Mine came from one of our suppliers, cant remember which! but I don't think there was a vast difference in price from the originals.
They do replace the originals and are not in addition, the part that touches the glass has a felt surface.

Hi Alan

I think you might be thinking about the ones on the drivers and passenger doors for the vertically sliding windows.
The ones I am thinking about are for the rear sliding windows on the Traveller.
My car does have the ones you are talking about as well, I think they are a big improvement for the door windows.
