Renewing seal bottom of door
I am at the rebuilding stage of my van , it appears I should have spot welded the small steel channel to the under side of the door , I overlooked this part would it be ok to pop rivet it on or does any one know of a good adhesive which could be used. Just to clarify it's the channel which holds the rubber seal.

Did the same as you! Doors were painted before I remembered and I never did fit it. Still have the channel and seal.
Doesn't seem to cause a problem!

The trouble with pop rivets is the head interfering with the rubber seal fit. The channel is very thin, even welding can blow it apart. Not sure about adhesives but nothing to lose, apparently there's some clever stuff about.

There is a school of thought that these channels and the seal are a rust trap and best left off. I did not have them replaced when I had my door bottoms repaired.....
