New door pillar hinge positions

Post by GavinL »

My door pillar is badly rotted at the bottom so I was intending replacing the bottom half including the bottom hinge. I've bought a complete Hadrian hinge panel, but when I offered this up to the door, the holes in the panel don't match up.

Is this usual? I'll probably position the bottom hinge to match the door hinges, rather than the spacing on the door pillar?

If necessary just make the holes in the repair panel a bit larger so that it is able to line up as it should do.
The threaded hinge plate will hold and clamp it all together.
As important if not more important - how do the threaded hinge clamping plates align when fitted into the holding brackets?
