Steering Wheel Paint.

Post by viewsonic1 »

Hi. Has anyone painted a Morris Minor steering wheel? I have a spare I am preparing having filled cracks with Isopon and am painstakingly rubbing down with wet and dry to get it really smooth. Do I use spray paint or do I brush it on? Which brand of paint should I use?
Thanks in advance!

Repaired mine with two part 30 minute epoxy harz - Isopon or similar body fillers will work for a while but are not flexible enough to cope with changing temperatures and in time will crack.

I have painted mine with standard gloss black spray can but it needs to be well prepared beforeheand, degreased and silikon free. A primer coat helps a lot to give an acceptable finish.

Yes,I agree. A good quality flexible filler, rub down, prime and spray. I used a black satin spray, but that's a taste thing. Mine still looking fine after donkey's years :D
