Early high arch rear wings
My project ‘54 saloon came with two new and unfitted wings but they are of the later small arch type. I know they will fit but I would like to keep the appearance of the early car. I have been told that people can modify the arch but I’m wary of ruining a new panel. Has anyone done this? How did you do it and is the result satisfactory?

Just a thought, I got my high arch wings from ESM, if they still do them could you sell yours on?

Well that’s one possibility, I could try that. Thanks

Alternatively it might be possible to modify fibreglass rear wings, cut the arch with a jig saw and fabricate new flanges. Any cracks could be repaired and there certainly wouldn’t be any of the wrinkly edges of unskilled tin bashing.
Anyone got any old saloon rear wings I could experiment on please?

try JLH on web and the other forum,he used to offer mod to convert. don't know if he still is. If you try diy the cutting to shape is easy, relatively, but you need to then roll the edge to finish needs a rolling rig to do it ,and a fair bit of skill.
