Front wing fixings

I'm back again with another question I can't find the answer to...

I bought my Minor part restored. All structural welding has been done, but it was partly dismantled when I got it.

I'm currently looking at fitting the front wings I've bought from eBay and club spares (thanks Bryan!). I have some missing cage nuts and a few missing cages too, both of which I can sort out. What I'm confused about though is the bottom fixing near the door pillar. From photos online it looks like an oblong of metal with (presumably) 2 threaded holes for the fixing bolts to align with the 2 cut outs at the bottom of the wing. Is that right? Sadly my car is missing these (see photo). Would a solution be to weld a couple of cage nuts in the relevant place in the inner wing? If not, are there any other suggestions please?

People have been known to use a couple of large self tapping screws. Possibly not as strong as the original fasteners though.

You could use rivnuts.

Below are the fixings on my current project - i made a jig to hold the new panel in place for welding, so i'm reasonably confident they are in the right place :-?

Thanks to all for the replies.

Sorry, but I don't like the self tapping screw option. I think I'd rather have a bolt of some sort.

I'd not thought of rivnuts. I like that and will investigate further.
