Tunnel alteration

Post by jagnut66 »

Hi
I am going to fit a 1098 ribbed box into my 1954 car. I have a replacement tunnel cover and could work out how much to cut out but to save me making a mistake does anyone know how much (measurements) I need to elongate the hole in the floor by?
If someone has made a note of what needs cutting out then that would be much appreciated and probably very useful to post up on this site, for anyone else who is about to attempt the same change to theirs.
As always many thanks in advance for any help / advice given.
Best wishes,
Mike.

I modified my series MM about 20 years ago and cut 1&1/2" from the floor. When I converted it back to side valve I just welded the piece back in. I had changed the cross member for the gear box also the propshaft and rear axle. The 1275cc MG engine is in my pick up now.
