Head Lining fitting
Can any one advise on the best way to get the head lining out, especially the front bit at the windscreen end. My car's a 1970 Traveller, I can't get it to budge
Re: Head Lining fitting
The headlining is attached to a piece of plywood that is held into the windscreen top bar by a couple of hidden spring clips, and those are probably what's stopping yours from moving.
Make sure that you have released the tensioning wires from under the dash and behind the B-post wooden trim. Remove the sun visors and the cover strip where the cab joins the rear; then youe need a thin flat bar with a right-angled end. Slide the end over the edge of the top rail and then move sideways until you feel the clips. Manipulate carefully to release he clips and then pull the board backwards.
If you are fitting a new headlining, then just cut the old one for better visibility. You can also lever the plywood out, but it will splinter and you risk losing the clips.
