Painting Traveller Wings

Post by MacD »

How much paint and primer is required to paint two new fibreglass wings and is it bettervto paint them before fitting or is it easier to have them fitted and mask off the surrounding area?
Thanks

Paint first. Rear wings you need to paint the face where it meets the wood, and you can't do that properly when it's on the car. Front wings, you need to paint the area adjacent to the A-post, and again you can't get the paint onto that face when it's on the car. Paint the inside surfaces first so that you finish on the outside without risking marking the outside where it will be seen. How much paint will depend on type of paint, application method and skill.
