Mystery repair panels

Post by philramsden »

Good afternoon

whilst unearthing some moggy spares in the depths of my garage I came across these repair panels. They don't appear to match up to any part of my saloon but from info on the www i'm told they are probably for a tourer. Is there anyone that could confirm this and also say whereabouts the panels would fit please?

Regards

Phil Ramsden

They look like sill cover plates to me. Frequently welded over the top (or more accurately underneath) sills that have started to fail. Sold as left and right hand sides and front and rear, so 4 in total. The inside edge is welded to the floor, the outer lip is where the finisher and top cover plate are bolted on. First picture, bottom panel, right hand end there is an angled sort of triangle. Offer the panel up under the car and that piece should be where the floor starts to angle up towards the front of the rear spring
