..
At the bottom of the new hinge posts is a small square bracket..it sticks out from the side, its a box section.
Am I correct in thinking that it holds the bottom of the front outer wing in place, and if so ,does the wing have a tongue of
metal which slips into it..a bit like a latch?
I need to rebuild the bottom wing corners, and the old ones are a bit far gone to see how it fits.
I have been trying to include a piccie for this but it keeps telling me that the image is invalid,so hopefully my description is sufficient.
Thanks

I know the bracket you mean, I’m just trying to visualise it. I believe it is there to act as a spacer to keep the wing distance, there is nothing to slip into it.

Re: What is this bracket for?
As above:-
The bracket is there to ensure the rear of the front wing and front edge of the door are kept in line. There is no corresponding fitting on the wing which hooks into the bracket.
The rear of the wing in the area of the bracket is not supported and could easily go out of line with the door hence the bracket.

Thanks Les & Phil, I figured it had something to do with the wing but couldn't be sure. Does the bracket touch the wing or is there any kind of spacer in between?

Re: What is this bracket for?
The bracket should not touch the wing so there is a small amount of clearance between the two. There is no spacer.
It is there to stop a big inwards shove against the rear lower part of the the wing so disallowing any distortion of the wing.
