REMOVING SCRATCHES FROM GLASS
i have a scratch on the front screen, where former owner didnt replace wiperblades how can this be removed thanks
Re: REMOVING SCRATCHES FROM GLASS
You can buy windscreen scratch removal kits from people like Frost ( www.frost.co.uk ).
You could try a metal polish or Jeweller's Rouge...masking up the area beforehand.I
If the scratch is "really deep" you will struggle to get a satisfactory result and replacement might be the only solution.
It's worth a go with the cheaper options first if it's not too bad.
good luck

Re: REMOVING SCRATCHES FROM GLASS
I have done this - depends how long and deep the scratch mark is! I tried Rouge - but was desperately slow. I then used cutting compound - as sold for cutting back paint and a small piece of 1000 grit wet/dry - used wet with 3 in 1 oil. This removed the scratch but left an 'opaqueness' - which I then polished out with Brasso and finally T Cut. It took a while - did a bit every evening. Alternative is to heave a brick into the screen - and get insurance co to fit a new one !
