In danger of sounding a moron but....
I've been given a square late 60's aa badge to go with my 69 minor 1000 and I got some fastening washers for it but I can't for the life of me figure out how you mount it to the front grille! The peg sticking out the back of the badge seems far too short to reach the back of the grille? Am I an idiot or is there a way of doing this? Many thanks!

Unscrew the small one in the middle, pull the back plate off,put the two long screws into the slots, screw the threaded long bracket thingies onto them. Then mount onto the grille, reattach the front of badge secured with the small center one.. hope that all makes sense ?

Hmmm I think my badge may be missing it's backplate then, all I have is the moulded badge and a fastening washer I bought to fit it!

Pictures would help..... Don't remember a square badge having a hole in it - or a screw at the front. Are you an AA Member anyway?

Looking at this one I found on flebay I just have the actual badge part, no backing or brackets etc. I guess I may need to try and pick one up at the Beaulieu auto jumble next month!

Yes so I'm missing the backing plate and brackets. I was given only the front badge!
