Front door stay screw plate

Post by Johnny »

Would anyone have an idea where I might be able to get one of the small plates that weld to the rear of the front inner wing panel that takes the screws for the door stay?

I have managed to loose the one I took off of the old panel and it's causing a major hold up now. It goes behind the two holes in the centre. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't have a tap and die set either or I'd make one!

Might have a struggle there, two alternatives spring to mind. (1)make a plate. (2)fit the stay to the panel with the screws and appropriate nuts, then weld the two nuts to the back of the panel?
edit. Forget the first option then, I posted then saw your follow up message! you could though make a plate and weld nuts to that.

Thanks Les, I think I'm just going to have to do that...

It's just one of those annoying little jobs that holds everything up!

All the best
