Hi Folks
Can you point me in the right direction? Can the club identify a car from its body plate ID?
My car has a body plate with M/A2S3 857*** stamped on it.
I've been advised the car is a converted 2 door saloon, is this right?
Many thanks
Peter

Re: Body plate identification
MA2S3/****** is indeed a 2-door saloon chassis number, probably early/mid 1960 (?). The body number is completely different. Your post isn't entirely clear but I assume the car is now a convertible. That being so its most likely been converted, or else it has inherited a chassis plate from a different car some time in its life. A factory convertible would be MAT3/****** There are normally quite simple ways to identify a conversion. No doubt someone with experience will drop in soon and advise
As an aside, its not wise to post the complete chassis number on here. The forum isn't completely safe from 'robots' etc which can harvest information. You may want to quickly edit your post... replacing the last four digits with **** will be sufficient!

Many thanks for the comment and advice.
As I get to know the car it seems to be an interesting collection of components.
More anon.

Re: Body plate identification
Does this mean someone here can identify a body type from the numbers on the ID plate please?
