Dash board mounted push-pull switches

Post by dennissutera »

Hi everyone, my original black bakelite switches have worn legends eg unable to see L for lights etc. Apart from replacing these working switches, I wondered about carefully re-stenciling the legend, has anyone successfully done this & can they plse advise how? Thank you in advance.

I seem to remember a way was to use typist tippex ,clean the letter first then apply in the groove ,Let it dry and clean off excess,

As above, or alternatively use model-makers enamel paint with an appropriate fine brush. May last longer than correction fluid which can flake over time.

Thank you for your advice. I was thinking of trying one of the "pens" used to touch up grouting in bathrooms as the nib is fine & the pen is easy to apply. However, I will also try your recommendations & see what works best.
