I'd like to re-cover the interior door panels as the material is quite tatty and faded, but I'm not sure where to go for the material, and what sort I need. Has anyone got any suggestions?
I've got a 1957 2 door saloon, just in case that makes any difference

You could make them yourself by buying some vinyl. You can get that, in the right colours from Newton Commercial, if you ask nicely... They're not supposed to sell off lumps of it, but hey, asking might not be getting, but it's a start.
They also make the panels. They're good quality, but not cheap.

re trim
Lo, if you wish to purchase the actual material'off the roll'
then try' Newton Commercial' on 01728 832880 (for brochure).
They supply original colours etc. Be warned, your newly recovered
panels will look much brighter than the old ones.

I went out on Sunday to a rally..... and happened to find someone who does car upholstery, so that was a good coincidence! She's going to get a few colour samples for me so I can choose the nicest one
I will need to do all the panels really.... it'll give me something to do when it's raining and I can't work on the car outside! I discovered on Sunday that my car is sitting very high at the front, so I need to check out the suspension now

OK, thats easy to check.....thus. If you imagine a vertical line
through the centre of the front wheel and look there over the top
of the tyre you should see a rubber cone which is the 'upper bump
stop' ( I say you should see it because they sometimes drop off)!
You will also see the top of the Swivel Pin. The gap between these
two should be approximately 2 1/4 inches( two and a quarter inches),
with the car on level ground. It sounds as though yours will be some-
what larger!
