Three good ones in & around Severn Valley.

Post by Blaketon »

There are two classic vehicle days at http://www.gwsr.com/planning_your_visit ... endar.html, one on Sunday 11 June and the other on Sunday 10 September.

Within site of the GWR is Prescott hillclimb. One of the best events, for those who like old cars, is http://www.vscc.co.uk/page/events?eventID=1130 . The VSCC also hold events at Shelsley Walsh and Loton Park (Both of which are not too far from the Severn Valley) and other events all over the country - http://www.vscc.co.uk/page/events .

The Severn Valley Railway hold a classic vehicle day (With vehicles exhibited at stations all along the line) - http://www.svr.co.uk/SEItem.aspx?a=52 . Exhibitors are not charged.

With regard to the Severn Valley Railway classic car day on 30 July 2017. Yesterday I FINALLY managed to speak to the event organiser as I am in a position to take my Moggie along. I was informed that event is fully booked. There are places for 150 cars and they have received 250 applications from potential exhibitors. Visitors are still welcome of course, but any potential exhibitors are now very unlikely to make it any further than the 2018 invitation mailing list.

By coincidence I have to take somebody to Kidderminster station that day to get the Chiltern service to London. So it will be a classic car day for me. Bewdley Station in the morning. Waggon & Horses at lunchtime. Kidderminster Station in the afternoon :)
