Morris Minor 1000, 1970, 2dr saloon, Almond Green, 2 owners, MOT to Oct 2019

First registered 1 August 1970 (VIN # MA2S5D1281799M, Engine # 10V189EH47634). This vehicle is an Historic Vehicle and is exempt from VED and MOT. For peace of mind it has a full 12 month MOT until October 2019.

We have owned the car for 33 years and we are the second owner since new. It was purchased by us from the original owner on 5 October 1985. Full provenance - included is the original purchaser’s Bill of Sale, original vehicle handbook, ‘BMC Passport to Service’, and ‘BMC Approved Accessory’ brochure.

The car has the following additions: converted to negative earth & unleaded petrol, MMC Series III front seats (with fabric chosen by us, matching the car’s colour), integral heated rear screen, electric screenwash, and inertia reel front seatbelts fitted. The original 2 front bucket seats are also included. The car was professionally restored by Charles Ware’s Morris Minor Centre in November 2007 - the brief was to fully restore the vehicle to excellent condition, and the full spec is available for review. The vehicle was extensively dismantled and included wax injection in the body shell. In all just over £5900 was spent on the restoration

It has a full service history -a new battery was fitted October 2018. Receipts available for all work carried out over the years.
We drive the car daily - current mileage is 110,222 (odometer indicates 10,222), and it’s always been kept in our garage. It starts and runs first time, drives well, and is very reliable.

The front bumper has localised distortion caused by someone attempting to tow the vehicle by the bumper, and there is a patch of non-structural corrosion on the RH cill. The chrome is above average but there is some localised pitting on the overriders. Inside, the carpets and trim are in excellent condition, and outside the paintwork is in excellent condition,.

Various spares are included including a full underbonnet soundproofing kit,

Also included are various manuals - Haynes Morris Minor Workshop Manual, official British Leyland Workshop Manual, Morris Minor Centre Parts catalogue, Morris Minor 1000 (P. Olyslager), Practical Classics Morris Minor Restoration, and the Morris Minor & 1000 Guide to Purchase & DIY Restoration (Lindsay Porter).

All in all this Morris has been very cheap to run – no VED required and very cheap insurance. Our whole family has driven the car at various times but we are now moving and will no longer have the space for him.

The car is located in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire.

We are looking for offers around £4100.
