Dies, die nuts and reamers
Dies, die nuts and reamers
Mostly whitworth, the large ones at the back are bsp. The reamers are various sizes,
I thought £10, the postage would probably be the killer though.

Hi Taupe, there is no actual size to see, however it measures 1 1/4” across, the photo shows the markings.

Les/Taupe
The die is 1" x 11 TPI.
Hence the 1 x 11 marking.
Phil
Note: all BSP threads from and including 1" BSP to and including 2" BSP are 11 TPI.

Re: Dies, die nuts and reamers
For added confusion the BSP size refers to the internal bore of the pipe with the thread external of said pipe, therefore the actual thread diameter is larger.

Hi, are these still available please?
If there's a 1/4" Whit die, would you just part with that?
Cheers Neil

Re: Dies, die nuts and reamers
If not available from Les I have a 1/4" Whit x 20 TPI non split die which you can have for £5 including postage.
Fits in a 1" die holder.
I also have several spare taps and dies BSF, UNF, Brass & Metric if you require additional items.

Re: Dies, die nuts and reamers
Actually, I now realise that what I need is a tap, rather than a die. I need to re-tap one of my bonnet hinges, the thread os worn and the stud will not stay in. I've tried threadlock & glue, to no avail. Metal filler has been suggested but I'm loathe to go down this route for the same reason, and I'm also loathe to get a new hinge.
If either of you have a 5/16" BSF tap (or UNF, or an M8, I'm not fussed really), I'd be very grateful. I'll happily pay for it, and of course for the postage.
Cheers Neil

I have the following available:-
5/16" x 22 TPI BSF 1st cut branded with three inverted triangles. Made in England.
5/16" x 22 TPI BSF 2nd cut branded Toga.
5/16" x 22 TPI BSF Plug branded Presto.
All of the above are in good condition.
You will need at least a 2nd cut tap to be able to start the thread.
You can have all three for £10 including postage.

Just seen your post, I have now sold most of my duplicates, just wanted to reply to be polite. Sounds like you will get sorted now though.
