Unfortunately that is the price that Cooper S rods now command.
The AEG625 con rods are not the best either, one grade down from the original spec Pt No: AEG521/AEG177 which were forged in EN 24V and are/were the best factory rods available.

The price of Cooper S parts has always been mad mainly because of the very good materials used in their manufacture.
