Oil leak

Post by Scottishmoggy »

Hi,
Duncan (1952 Series MM) has developed an oil leak from the engine to rubber connection in the bulk head.
Can you give some information on how to fix this..
Does the rubber connection disconnect?

Any help...gratefully received...
cheers,
Chris

Not sure which part of the oil supply you are refering to. Is this an oil pressure gauge line?

I'm not too sure...but the rubber connection...leads to the oil pressure instrument...if that helps

Ah got you... OK depending on the type of oil line a replacement line would be the answer. Some are copper pipe, some are a combination of copper pipe to thin bore rubber hose. If there are any hose clips along the line that could be a source of the leak. As the oil pressure guage is fed from the main oil gallery, this needs to be fixed ASAP, if the oil line ruptures you will lose oil pressure very quickly.
