Hello from a new member
I thought I'd better say hi after lurking for a few weeks.
I'm Mike, from Bradford and am currently don't have a Minor. I do own a Ford Anglia Van which I fitted with a two litre Zetec. One or two of you may have seen it/me around Yorkshire or at shows.
Morris Minors are what got me into classic cars in the mid 80s, but strangely I've never owned one. I'm going to rectify that as soon as I can, but first have to sell a car or two (I own a BMW E30 and another Anglia).
Mike

Welcome! Beautiful looking van and an excellent conversion. What sort of moggy would you be after?

Thanks for the welcome.
I've always wanted a Series II. There's just something about the split screen that appeals.

To refurb as original or to 'modify'?
Our other car is a 2009 Citroen C6 3.0 HDi a 'future classic' and far rarer than a Morris Minor!!
The 'moggie' has been replaced with another 'classic' a 1953 Citroen Traction Avant 11BL

That's a tough one to answer. It depends on the car. My Anglia saloon which I've owned since 1990 is kind of a Ford equivalent to the Minor Million. It's known as a 'Gold Standard' which is a limited edition made at the end of production. They made 250 in Blue Mink (like mine) and 500 in Venetian Gold. It's under restoration, and plan on keeping it standard.
I think if you've rescued a car from the grave, and replaced most of the panels and repaired the floors then it's fine to modify it. If it's a rare model, low mileage, or pretty much original then it should be kept as close to standard as possible.
My van was already modified when I bought it. I got it off a guy who restored it and modified it as he's a hot rodder and would take it drag racing. I bought it off him when he blew up two engines and began to lose interest.

I'm in Birkenshaw. I'm often on the Stanningley bypass as my daughter lives in Horsforth. I'll keep my eyes open for a Moggie around there.

Didn't I see you at Harlech Castle earlier this year, on an Anglia Owners Club outing?

Hi, no. That wasn't me. There's two other vans that I know about that are a similar shade. One has white doors and is kind of a police van replica. He lives in Scotland. The other one is under restoration somewhere after he bumped it. I'll have to keep an eye out for it on the forums.
