Cheap alloy inlet tip

Post by Rust bucket »

For those who are fitting an alloy inlet manifold to their cars, if you buy a cheapish copy like I did on line, a rather bulky thing compared with a good quality one, here are the problems you can have. Very hard to get at the inner nuts, bolt holes arnt in line and the fact that the flange is slightly to big causing the top of the inlet port on the manifold to foul the little lip above the head inlet port causing an air leak. Time wasted on fiddling around with carbs and needles :x :x, car now runs sweet as a nut :D .

Here is a nice cheap (currently) alloy inlet manifold and universal fitment too.

Yes I paid more for mine, tubing looks a little slimmer plus casting is better and has a maker's name.

No matter.
You made it fit and got the car running well and that is what matters.
Well done.
