I'm back!

Post by Dominic »

Hi all,
I'm now back in the land of the living. having been in hospital since the beginning of May. Was clobbered by a totally unforseen stroke. Now unable to walk or drive a car, as no feel or power in left hand or leg. Unable to work on the newly acquired yellow convertible which is damned annoying! Has anyone done a truly good and reliable conversion to automatic that can readily be undone in the future? I'd be having to get someone to do the work, (I'm near Blackpool) so any recommendations and ideas of likely costs would be gratefully received

Thanks all :-)

What bad luck Dominic. Good luck with your recovery.

I've no idea about automatic Minors although I know it CAN be done. Marina engine and gearbox I guess? Don't suppose it is particularly simple though. I think I saw an automatic Traveller on ebay recently.

Hi just want to wish you well and to say that I had a stroke last March, hang in there it will improve.Do not slack on your therapy,it is so important. I have a 1971 morris two door and I was in middle of a brake job when I lost all power. Little improvement every week. Rick in Langley BC canada

Sorry to hear about your stroke. As has been mentioned keep up the physio and excercise, theres no gain with out some pain so keep pushing your self!

Sandy and Rosie Hamilton had an automatic traveller and Ive heard of an auto convertible, so something must be possible.
