Re: Battery conditioners
I have and use a Accumate 6V & 12V battery charger / conditioner which is similar to the product listed and it has given good service over several year and I would not hesitate to recommend the purchase of one.
Re: Battery conditioners
Just get a solar charger - about £12 in Maplins - no need for cables and works very well. The solar panel needs to face south for best winter performance.

Re: Battery conditioners
I'll second that! They were £10 in Maplins the month before smashing. Extension cables were more expensive than the charger!

Re: Battery conditioners
Bloody predictive text... How did it change 'xmas' to 'smashing'? Bizarre.
Re: Battery conditioners
Lidle do a good one for about £12.00 which is as good as ones 3 times the price and guaranteed for 12 months have used it on my Aston for years !

Re: Battery conditioners
I bought a Maplins charger a couple of years ago on the recommendation of Mr Mc Ecosse- it lasted just over a year.......
I was wondering what peoples experiences were of the 'conditioning' as opposed to the 'charging'. Do they revive ailing batteries / keep them alive longer??

Re: Battery conditioners
Here is the link to Accumate and Accumate technical data and you can make up your own mind.

In my experience the Accumate will revive a perceived dead battery.

Re: Battery conditioners
tried them without a great deal of success ,I think if its getting to that stage a new battery and trickle charger ,if the car is laid up,is the only way.Biggest problem is that the batteries these last few years are poor quality ,unless you pay mega bucks.

Re: Battery conditioners
A dead battery is a dead battery.
The Accumate will revive a battery that is so low in charge that a normal battery charger would not be able to help bring it back to full charge without possible damage to the plates.
