Anyone know who bought this one?

I went and had a look but decided 4K was a bit too much for me.

Re: Series MMs For Sale
I've no idea who bought it but it was offered here for sale last month for £6000 wasn't it. I also thought it looked a very interesting car although a little expensive.

Indeed - an interesting car - I was VERY tempted!! . Unfortunately the vendor already had an offer of 4k by the time I arrived. Did I miss out on a good deal.....?? Who knows

Re: Series MMs For Sale
At least he looks like complete.
It is a version with an aftermarket waterpump and sidevalve, when the engine can be turned around, you have a lot of parts ;)

Re: Series MMs For Sale
What is the head water outlet doing on the right side and why 5 head retaining stud holes on the right side? The spark plug holes are also incorrectly located. Is this a MM head? Having had a second look the block is not MM - it has an outward 'bump' on the left side sump flange above the clutch plate in the pic and what looks like an engine mount just foreward of the 'bump' secured by 3 studs. It also has a row of bolts below the tappet chest - definately not a MM motor.

Re: Series MMs For Sale
It's a Ford 8 or 10 engine, I guess. Might even be an 1172(?) lump. I seem to recall that the MM engine was loosely designed round the Ford one.

Have been doing some googling and when searching Ford Prefect motor came up with this. Don't know whether you had them in the UK, but here from memory they were 10 HP donks and their little brother was called the Anglia and was an 8 HP version.
5 studs along the centre and right side and 4 on the left - water outlet in the same location, and with what appears to be a thermo fan switch toward the right side as in the for sale ad.

Re: Series MMs For Sale
It looks fab and very original from the interior. Pity there is no picture of the engine compartment. Odd bolts on rear number plate ?

Unclear from photo but seats appear to have brown piping. Should be green I believe...? Its got a suction-mounted electric front screen demister too!
Could do with MUCH more info and would help the seller if it was listed in 'classic cars for sale' category. Currently listed in 'collectables>transportation>automobilia'.
£2.90 for 2nd class postage ain't 'arf bad!
