Anti roll bar ground clearance
Hey guys, wondering if anybody running an anti roll bar has any issues with ground clearance, especially when it comes to speed bumps! The esm one for example with brackets attached to the chassis rails. Also those running a roll bar with a lowered car also!

My ESM roll bar is at 5" and I rather like its double purpose , sump guard , well almost , damn near in line with the base of the sump.

Never had a problem with public road and supermarket speed bumps. They are usually constructed to a standard.
Some private establishments with do-it-yourself bumps have been an issue, but judging by the gouges in the bumps others have had the same problem.
If a speed bump damages your car when driven at a reasonable speed and the bump is not to municipal standards, you can sue if you have the resources.

Hi Phil.philthehill wrote:What make/type roll bar are you using?
No idea.
It was fitted by Charles Ware last year. Don't know if they make their own or buy them in. I cam probably find out if it's of great interest.
It's got about an inch more ground clearance than the sump.
It works pretty well and made more difference to the handling than I was expecting.
Can take a pic if you like, but not until August as I'm overseas at the moment.

Re: Anti roll bar ground clearance
With the ESM antiroll bar fitted and the car at normal ride height no part of the antiroll bar should foul any speed bumps.
If you have lowered the suspension there is an increased expectation that the antiroll bar will hit or foul any speed bumps.

What roll bar do you run Phil? Very nice Morris by the way! Is that a 1380? Think I read up on a thread about it before

Re: Anti roll bar ground clearance
Thank you - yes 1380cc.
The anti roll bar has been on the car for many years and If I remember correctly it is a Derrington item purchased new in the 1970s so unfortunately no longer available.
The ESM type anti roll bar appears to be the only anti roll bar available currently for the Minor.
Minor Mania used to do a very nice rose jointed front anti roll bar for the Minor but stopped manufacturing them quite a while ago and they have no plans to restart production.
