Interrupted service?

Post by SteveClem »

Has the forum been off for a while, or is it a problem at my end?

Was down on 28th but resumed later the same day as far as I'm aware. This morning there was another interruption. It is ..... 'in hand'. Watch this space :D

Is it possible to have a message that a part of the MMOC site is down when trying to access it? Would be much better than the usual meaningless error message.

Very easy for planned maintenance. Also very easy for fault situations - if we're prepared to pay for automated monitoring and dual hosting. That's over to Mike ot discuss at Committee, but I couldn't justify the cost. We have to be realistic and say that the board being down is a minor inconvenience, but in truth, nobody is going to die and we're not going to lose thousands of pounds if it has to wait until we spot the problem and get our IT provider to fix it.

Having asked a polite question, in a polite manner, I'll put your reply down to 'having a bad day'.

Personally I thought the reply you got was extremely polite, but hey if you see something else do please point it out!
