Water inlet castings for side of Sidevalve engine

Post by RobThomas »

Are there any for sale? I've not seen new ones produced for a while. I have 2 really good ones here and wondered if it was worth getting some copies cast.
Any thoughts?

I bought one from ESM a few months ago.
I believe they were out of stock for a long time so I grabbed one while I could! (Haven't needed to fit it yet)

Ref the ally water pipe on side of MM engine. I have two of these but both are getting debatable so when in ESM recently I asked and was told they have asked their ally casters for an up-to-date price. They said "don't hold your breath"!!
I cannot imagine there is much of a market for these so no point in duplicating a production run. Ask ESM the question!

Just had a look at their website and see they are not listed again.
Worth a call though.

Thanks, everyone. If ESM have a supplier then it isn't worth me making any more. Too much of a risk.

I managed to find a cast iron one off a marine engine, some of the fire pump engines also have iron ones
