grommet for wiring harness through firewall
May I ask, is this grommet the same as the headlight wiring grommet, and is there a back piece on the triangular fastener plate that secures this in place, or is there just one plate in the engine bay side. Thanks, Also where does the gearbox earth strap go. This car is a series 2 Thanks

The grommet is not the same as the headlight wiring grommet.
The assembly used to accommodate the wiring loom passing through the bulkhead is comprised of items 56 (Cap grommet retainer), 55 (Rubber grommet), 56 (Cap grommet retainer) & 57 (Screw) in the link below and is fitted on the engine compartment side of the bulkhead.

The gearbox earth wire goes from the gearbox side of the gearbox rubber mounting to one of the crossmember bottom securing bolts.
