Currently drinking.....
Thought I'd start a Currently Drinking topic. I've seen one on other forums, I think this one needs one.
Mods-if there's already one, then please feel free to delete & point me in the right direction.
I'll start.
Beer. Black Sheep Golden Sheep Ale. 4.5%. Nice, though I prefer dark sweet beers. Cheers!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Speckled_Hen
For me the original Speckled Hen produced by Morland Brewery had a far superior taste to that currently being produced.
For motor related beers see :-

Got me a gottle of gear in the form of Wychwood brewery's Hobgoblin tonight, and a fine 5.2% brew it is too.

Re: Currently drinking.....
Currently drinking tea, whilst enjoying a lie in, and contemplating getting up to collect son from cub camp.
Had Sainsbury's Dark Porter last night. Nice, but not quite sweet enough for my taste.
Oh and Peroni Gran Riserva in Pizza Express, near Paddington station, which washed down a pizza very nicely!

Re: Currently drinking.....
At home: Lazy Sunday coffee by Taylor's of Harrogate, or Earl Grey tea. The occasional gin (Bombay Sapphire) with tonic or cheap sparkling plonk.
Out: Hazlenut latte (Costa Coffee) or Caramel Macchiato (Coffee #1).
Pub: Carling or equivalent mass-produced lager. Peroni in huge quantities if I have nothing to do the following day.

Re: Currently drinking.....
We took some friends to Mount St Bernard Abbey yesterday and bought a couple of bottles of their Trappist ale to try. The monks have given up on dairy farming and have revived their brewing tradition.
Beautifully made and presented but you almost need a spoon to get it out of the bottle! Too strong for me...it's called Tynt Meadow.
Fabulous place to visit though.

Re: Currently drinking.....
Yes, about 10 minutes off junction 23 of the M1. A lovely spot in Charnwood Forest. Some of the oldest fossils in the world are found in the local rock outcrops. The abbey was designed by Pugin (Houses of Parliament fame) and the grounds and gardens are very peaceful. Easy to understand why the monks decided to settle there. There was a Frogeye Sprite parked outside the guests house, which has been used by some interesting people over the years.

My son-in-law brought me a couple of bottles of this from the first batch. Wonderful stuff, to be enjoyed in moderation,SteveClem wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 11:26 am We took some friends to Mount St Bernard Abbey yesterday and bought a couple of bottles of their Trappist ale to try. Erdinger Weißbier last night. Rather partial to a bit of German wheat beer.
