Body paint

Post by manlyvaleaussie »

I am planning to paint my 1952 Series MM restoration in Clarendon Grey, (originally painted black) the aerosol cans available in the U.K. that would be perfect for a sample of the colour cannot be shipped to the U.S.A. Does anybody have a chip or small body part with the original colour that could be cleaned up and scanned in order to obtain the formula or any better ideas also welcome. Thank you, Paul Follett. Check out the paint number and you should be able to get some mixed. Cheaper than rattle cans too!

Clarendon grey would have been GR6 paint code
Different paint manufacturers would have different tinters so a formula would be no use unless it was from a paint manufacturer that trades in the USA. Do you have a company in the USA that specialises in mixing old car paints for classic british cars

Thanks for the paint code Ian, I do know of one company in New Orleans who might be able to supply and I am checking for others. Regards, Paul.
