Interior sun visors
I have 1957 convertible and have an issue with the sun visors and mounting points.
According to the everything I've read it should have centre hinged visors; mine has had 1 fitted with three screw fixing so that it can swing across to the side; also believe it's not a genuine Morris item. Perhaps when the car was restored maybe a later body was used? Can anyone throw any light on this? See pics below :

Trouble removing worn convertible hood locating pins.Screw heads rounded off. Thinking whether to try cutting bracket carefully with my cut off tool.

Re: Interior sun visors
An original convertible wouldn't have had ANY sunvisors. The one your car has fitted isn't from a Minor - I don't know what it IS from but it looks quite a neat fitment I think! The ones fitted to Minor saloons & travellers of that period would indeed have been mounted centrally.

Re: Interior sun visors
These are the right ones for a 1957 car. I was tempted by these new old stock some time ago but they were $389 a pair so I kept my old battered ones.
Has anyone had any luck refurbishing this type ?

Re: Interior sun visors
Those are indeed the correct visors for a 1957 Minor - although as I said earlier, they were never fitted to the convertible models. They were a short-lived design partly because they tend to rattle and were superseded fairly quickly by a more simple version. I replaced them on my car because the rattling drove me mad!

Mine have been refurbished in the dim and distant past. They look terrible. One side of each is beige fleck to match the headlining. The other side of each is pale grey!firedrake1942 wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 12:29 pm These are the right ones for a 1957 car. I was hoping there might be some textured paint which would serve, without cracking. I have been looking for one at an Autojumble so as to experiment.

Re: Interior sun visors
I would keep the swing-out visors, the tiny original ones are pathetic.

Pretty sure that visor is from a Morris Mini-Minor.
