Electrics

Post by les »

I seem to be plagued with issues electric lately, looking at the Minor wiring diagram how does 12 volts reach A2 of the fuse box. Does it come via the ignition switch? If it does I’ve a break in that wire.

Comes through fuse from A1, this is fed from A on the control box , which is teed direct to the battery.

Sorry John I misled you, I’m wondering how 12v gets to A3 on the fuse box not A2. Specsaver moment !
I’m missing power to the pump and distributor.

Yes it comes out of the ignition switch on the white wire. Do you have voltage on the brown/blue on the ignition switch? If not do you have voltage on A1 on the control box?

I haven’t checked the ign switch yet or the A1 control unit, will do so tomorrow. If the white wire is the source of the 12v feed I’m thinking it may have become disconnected at the switch, hence the dead pump and distributor feed. The motor turns over fast, so no battery issues. Thanks for the replies. Back on it Tuesday.

The wiring diagram here: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=28295 explains most things.

Using the meter i have checked out all suggested and have voltage on A1. Checking further I found a loose spade connector right at the back of the fuse box. I closed it slightly with pliers and refitted it. Success !

I’m still not sure about that ! :D but I will say a test meter is invaluable
