Ashtray Position

Where does this normally fit ?

It is screwed under the dashboard, just to the left of the choke knob. I'm sure if you Google 'Morris Minor dashboard' you will find a picture.

........and only fitted to late Series11s and early Minor 1000s. Late Minor 1000s had an ashtray on each end of the parcel shelf.

I now have a couple of what I hope are the correct ashtrays

If your car originally had that type of twin ashtray fitted, then the mounting holes will still be present at each end of your parcel tray.
If, on the other hand, your car is an earlier model and was originally fitted with the metal type in your first picture then the mounting holes will still be present underneath the metal dashboard. No cars had BOTH types. The ones in your latest picture are what replaced the one in your earlier picture. You haven't told us what year your car is, so it is impossible to judge :wink:

Can somebody clarify Which year does the ashtray changed from chrome/metal to the black one?..

Some says from car number 108xxxx or some says 107xxxx... thanks
