So I’ve converted my saloon to a semi convertible (not roof at all) and in doing so, I’ve used the top of the windscreen from a long dead convertible.
Along the back edge of the top rail, there was a strip of steel that folded over the seam and was screwed along the top.
I removed this as it was very very crusty to say the least and I am now at the stage where I can reinstate it with a new one (from Charles wares)
I am however having a few issues with it, firstly it’s a straight bit of aluminium and the top bar isn’t and I am not sure how it is finished at the ends.
I’ve looked at various top bars and they all have the original factory finishing strip and none I’ve seen have the aluminium strip.
Can someone who has done the saloon to convertible work possibly take a few pictures of how they fitted this strip?
