Okay, we're done now
That's it, I've finished with this. The board has been down for most of the past day, and we're still waiting for the company to get back to us and explain the last lot of breakdowns from the previous set of cockups. We (that is, Simon and myself) have no faith whatsoever that the board will stay running over the holiday period, and we have every faith that when it goes down, it won't be up until next year when the pathetic company we use amble back to work. Yes, I can call them pathetic, because that is my personal experience of them, and as a paying member of the club I get the right to an opinion.
I've had enough of whinging on here about them too - I'm going to create a new board with a new hosting company and tell the club that they can either accept it, or throw me off - I make more than enough issues on my own without having to apologise for ones I'm not in control of. Hopefully you get an idea that I'm as cheesed off with this crap service as you all no doubt are!

Reason: Edited to change "we've" to "I've", as after chatting with Simon today he would prefer a more conciliatory tone, although he agrees with the general sentiment.

Mike - I'm new here, but can I put you in contact with a friend of mine who's run a "car forum" for almost 20 years. He's gone through what you (we?) are going through, and the system he's chosen and runs now is excellent.
Here's the forum:

I'd be happy to give you his email address if you like. Great guy.

What happened to this proposed replacement?

Re: Okay, we're done now
We did a couple of demos of proposed replacements, using a couple of different forum packages, but they were all done under the presumption that we were using the same hosting package that we have now. I'm not wanting to stay with that idea now, for reasons above.

Mike we are very grateful you are trying to get our forum working and I hope after all your hard work creating a new board it will be accepted and your efforts officially recognised, as this is not a quick or easy task I'm sure.

Re: Okay, we're done now
Hi Mike,I'm going to create a new board with a new hosting company
Small request, if it's possible, which others may like too:
Please can we have the ability to upload our 'signature' pictures ourselves, direct from our PC's in the same way as we upload pictures into our posts on here, rather than having to go via a hosting site, this time?
Many thanks,
Mike.
