Idle speed
Novice mechanic, redone sump gasket, tappets, rocker gasket new exhaust and she still runs!! I’m now thinking about timing etc, she runs ok but I’m thinking she’s ticking over a bit slow? Any advice or opinions would be a help, and if I am right how to adjust? https://share.icloud.com/photos/00eDa-I ... skZg7itgmw

Re: Idle speed
That seems OK to me. As long as it stays running when you operate the clutch.
Re: Idle speed
Thanks Jowett
When first started she was a bit cold, so needed a little choke, I think I pushed it back in too fast as she died. But on restart she was fine, drove for a few mile and the video was on the return. Thanks for response and putting mind at rest. Next job is change differential oil.

Re: Idle speed
To set the idle speed - set the engine speed so that the ignition warning light just flickers when the clutch is depressed.
Re: Idle speed
Hello Phil
Would that be done by adjusting the screw on the throttle linkage?

Re: Idle speed
Adjust the idle screw on the carb.
Make sure that the clearance between the throttle and choke linkage is correct.
